Assistant AIRC2 Capability Assessment

The Assistant AIRC2 Capability Assessment supports the selection and acquisition process of future IAMD capabilities within the enhanced AIRC2 programme. The role involves facilitating trials and testing events, supporting operational acceptance criteria development, and coordinating with various NATO entities to evaluate Air Command & Control systems.

Responsibilities

• Supports the selection and acquisition process of future IAMD capabilities required by the enhanced AIRC2 programme.
• Supports the development of the Operational Acceptance roadmap and timeline as per the ACO Directives.
• Contributes to the development and reviewing of Operational Acceptance Criteria (OAC) aligned with Operational Requirement Statement (ORS).
• Supports the development of operational specifications to evaluate available solutions.
• Supports the development of technical specifications and criteria to evaluate available solutions.
• Supports planning activities related to the upgrade of the ATTF facilities and hardware, and initial tests conducted by ATTF staff, making regular progress reports.
• Facilitates all trials and testing events supporting evaluation of AIRC2 solutions.
• Supports preparation and participation in User / Operational Acceptance Testing (UAT/OAT), Operational Live Testing (OLT), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and other Operational Verification events.
• Coordinates with AIRCOM Headquarters to support operational users in NATO laboratories, testing, and industry facilities.
• Identifies suitable Air Exercises (CPX/CAX – LIVEX) for use and assessment of new AIRC2 system components in coordination with AIRCOM, CAOCs and DACCC.
• Supports Verification if selected AIRC2 system components meet agreed Acceptance Criteria.
• Produces ACO reports after each trials and testing event to support ACO decision and final Capability Acceptance Report.
• Supports Analysis of Alternatives and related industry surveys led by the iPO.
• Participates in evaluation of available technologies and contributes to recommendations for Allied decisions on technical solutions.
• Works closely with and reports to SHAPE PLANS SDF C2SOUS COO.
• Assists the AIRC2 Analyst in tasks in the Independent Programme Office (iPO).
• Supports the C2OUS Branch Head in responsibilities as eAirC2 POC for the iPO and member of the Senior Responsible Owner Programme.

Requirements

• Higher Secondary education and intermediate vocational training which might lead to a formal qualification with 2 years experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Air Command & Control systems/softwares used in the NCS and NFS.
• Comprehensive knowledge of operational assessment and acceptance procedures used in NATO.
• Working experience in conducting operational trials and testing events aiming to evaluate/assess AirC2 systems/softwares.
• Experience at the NCS/NFS level dealing with IAMD related issues.
• Understanding of the NCS Air C2 organisation and the battle management of air operations.
• English (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) - SLP 3333.
• Candidates must be in possession of valid NATO security clearance at the time of application or have been in possession of such clearance with possibility to reactivate it swiftly.
