Provide first and second line technical support (remote or on-site) to MSF Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programs including gynecology-obstetrics, comprehensive abortion care (CAC), and family planning. Support capacity building of program staff and quality of care through technical know-how transfer, ensuring programs operate under optimal technical conditions to support MSF medical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assess SRH program activities, clinical practices and organizational devices to identify gaps and improvement areas according to MSF standards, protocols and best practices, providing guidance and corrective actions as needed.
  • Evaluate and validate local capacities and providers to ensure quality, compliance and suitability to MSF operations.
  • Develop and support implementation of SRH, CAC and family planning activities including protocols, strategies and operational plans adapted to each context.
  • Provide technical advice and problem-solving support to program teams during implementation to ensure effective SRH service delivery.
  • Contribute to HR processes by supporting recruitment, briefings, debriefings and coaching of technical staff.
  • Identify training needs and strengthen technical capacities of program staff through training, coaching and mentoring on SRH topics.
  • Support development of technical policies, SOPs and tools in coordination with headquarters referents to ensure harmonized and updated practices.
  • Document and share learnings through reports, analyses and participation in departmental learning initiatives to improve overall technical effectiveness.
  • Focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health services including contraception, comprehensive abortion care and sexual violence care.
  • Support development and adaptation of SRH strategies, guidelines and tools in collaboration with technical referents.
  • Contribute to contextual analysis and strategic planning of SRH interventions in the Sahel region.
  • Promote patient-centered approaches, decentralized care models and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mental health, health promotion, etc.) to ensure integrated care.
  • Support capacity building initiatives including regional trainings and learning activities.
  • Participate in technical forums, workshops and knowledge sharing platforms as required.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Medicine with specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics required.
  • Additional training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), community health or public health considered an asset.
  • Minimum two years of field experience with MSF.
  • Proven experience in implementing SRH programs, quality improvement, and adult training and capacity building.
  • Experience in comprehensive abortion care (CAC/SAC), sexual violence care and/or emergency SRH interventions considered an asset.
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken) required.
  • English language skills considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health including contraception, comprehensive abortion care and clinical management of sexual violence in low-resource settings.
  • Knowledge of MSF protocols, standards and operational frameworks, and experience with data monitoring systems and quality of care approaches considered an asset.
