Responsibilities
- Provide preventive health guidance and medical support to international mobile staff to ensure fitness for assignment and safe deployment.
- Advise missions and operational teams on staff health management practices to strengthen quality, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Assess complex staff health situations and facilitate access to specialized medical expertise to support appropriate clinical decision-making.
- Coordinate medical evacuations and post-evacuation follow-up to ensure continuity of care and staff well-being.
- Lead the implementation and continuous development of OCBA’s decentralized physical staff health strategy to enhance access, effectiveness, and operational impact.
- Support and mentor Physical Staff Health Focal Points and relevant stakeholders to strengthen staff health capacity across decentralized hubs.
- Develop and update staff health policies, guidelines, protocols, training materials, and operational standards to promote evidence-based practice.
- Monitor and analyze staff health activities and contribute to planning, reporting, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen staff health services.
- Provide technical medical support for both international and locally hired staff health management.
- Participate in staff health emergency response mechanisms, including on-call support for critical incidents.
- Collaborate closely with psychosocial support resources and multidisciplinary stakeholders in the management of complex cases.
- Promote harmonization and collaboration with other MSF Operational Centres regarding staff health practices.
- Contribute to staff health training, awareness, prevention, and health promotion initiatives.
- Support organizational efforts to strengthen duty of care and staff well-being across diverse operational contexts.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD) and valid professional qualification to practice medicine.
- Previous MSF experience in a field-based medical or medical coordination role within a humanitarian setting.
- Essential: English (C1) and French (C1). Desirable: Spanish working proficiency.

- Medical risk assessment and fitness-for-work evaluation.
