See your match score & applyThe Supply/Logco defines and implements logistics strategies and support to the field, ensuring the pertinence and coherence of logistics programmes, adequacy of the means provided and compliance with MSF standards and protocols to enable mission development and optimize medical project impact. The SAR Supply/LogCo is responsible for all supply related issues and accountable for all Tech Log related issues, supervising the Deputy Logistics Coordinator and liaising with counterparts on legal compliance and supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement logistics strategies and support to the field ensuring pertinence and coherence of logistics programmes.
- Supervise the Deputy Logistics Coordinator and provide functional line to log and supply managers in Sicily.
- Accountable for all Port Agent matters related to supply and services and liaise on legal compliance issues such as customs and duty.
- Adapt and implement Supply Handbook and Strategy to SAR specific context.
- Develop agile and dynamic supply chain strategy ensuring continuity and efficient support for SAR operations.
- Ensure regular reporting on performance in supply chain management and other logistical fields including Vessel Management.
- Liaise between advisory team and log team and act as focal point for supply/logistics for SAR towards HoM and other departments.
- Monitor efficient implementation of supply procedures including demand planning, procurement, import/export, warehousing, distribution and transversal activities.
- Anticipate risks linked to supply chain, define and implement action plans to mitigate risks involving specialists.
- Manage supply chain of medications including controlled medications adhering to Italian and Maritime regulations.
- Validate use of supply related third parties such as suppliers, transport companies, freight forwarders.
- Accountable for applied security measures within the mission ensuring safe environments in maritime and land locations and vehicles.
- Lead development and application of safeguarding measures within Logistics department.
- Provide advice and inputs for Supply Manager in coordination and projects for activity resource plans and budgets.
- Hold a valid EU driving license and be willing to drive.
Requirements
- Degree and specialization in Logistics, supply or technical project coordination.
- At least 2 years of working experience in relevant jobs.
- Previous humanitarian experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
- Highly desirable: previous SAR or maritime experience either in supply/logistics ashore or on-board.
- English language proficiency at C1 level.
- Desirable: Italian language proficiency at B2 level.
- Computer literacy including Word, Excel, and internet.
- MSF logistics and supply knowledge/training.
- Unified experience and understanding.
- Desirable: maritime and port understanding and willingness to learn.
- Valid driving license accepted in EU and willingness to drive.
