The Editor supports the Office of the Secretary's mandate to strengthen information and documents submitted to the Board of Directors and disclosed to the public. The role focuses on editorial excellence, information management, and digital transformation to improve the quality and accessibility of Board information for decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide editorial excellence for Board documents, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with ADB standards and appropriate handling of sensitive issues.
  • Improve the structure and narrative quality of complex policy and operational documents.
  • Support teams in presenting clear, evidence-based, and decision-focused information.
  • Promote standards that ensure content is concise, consistent, and machine-readable.
  • Lead improvements in document, information, and records management practices across SEC and BOD.
  • Ensure alignment with ADB policies on information classification, access, and disclosure.
  • Contribute to enhancements of digital platforms and responsible AI adoption.
  • Support the integration of systems and tools to improve Board members' user experience and access to information.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training and guidance on editorial excellence.
  • Promote a culture of high-quality documentation, and good information management practices.
  • Work closely with relevant departments and stakeholders to align systems and practices.
  • Act as a bridge between business, editorial, and technical teams.
  • Provide inputs to institutional initiatives on information management and digital transformation.
  • Provide secretariat support to Board committees, as required.
  • Support documentation of key events (e.g., Annual Meetings, Board and Management Retreat).

Requirements

  • Master's degree, or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, International Affairs, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Information Management or related fields.
  • University degree in English, Journalism, Communications, International Affairs, Social Sciences, Information Management or related fields, combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
  • At least 6 years relevant information and document management and editing experience in a professional capacity.
  • Experience in digital transformation in editorial roles and in using digital tools, and AI in the workplace.
  • International experience working in several countries, preferably in developing countries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
