The Logistics Assistant-Warehouse and Asset Keeper manages and operates warehouse activities including receipt, storage, control, and issuance of supplies and equipment. The role ensures accurate stock management, reporting, and asset tracking to support program targets with zero stock-outs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and operate warehouse activities including receipt, storage, control, and issuance of supplies and equipment.
- Receive deliveries, coordinate stock, document warehouse transactions, maintain records, and oversee storage of fixed assets.
- Conduct inventory and manage GIK commodities as per Plan International GIK SOP and WFP warehouse standards.
- Ensure accurate receipt via LESS Last Mile, FEFO/FIFO stock management, stock reporting, pest/humidity control, and asset tracking.
- Plan, organize, and control stores/stocks ensuring prompt, efficient and quality service to concerned units.
- Order, receive, store, issue, and secure food and non-food items as per location requirements and contractual specifications.
- Ensure compliance with store and fixed assets management instructions.
- Support safeguarding and gender equality and inclusion policies and procedures within the unit.
Requirements
- BA/Diploma in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supplies Management, and/or other related disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, stock control, or related work in INGO.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office software suite.
- Ability to solve problems, take initiative, and plan the tasks.
- Flexibility with time to work extra hours when the project requires.
- Must have knowledge and experience in storekeeping.
- Knowledge in basic bookkeeping.
- Must be keen on details.
- Must have strong built to carry supplies.
- Strong human relations skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good team building and motivational skills.
- Ability to organize own work and a high value for time management.
- Working with a minimum level of supervision.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Excellent English verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of local language (Afaan Oromoo) will be an asset.
