WASH Officer

The WASH Officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process, including development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH output results. The role involves managing supplies for water, sanitation and hygiene interventions along the supplies management cycle.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: civil, sanitary, water, environmental engineering or another relevant technical field.
• A minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
• Success in this position requires solid experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, and approval processes, complemented by environmental engineering knowledge, strong reporting skills, and the ability to facilitate effectively.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
• Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
