The Programme Associate provides specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities to meet food assistance needs effectively. The role involves managing operational partnerships, coordinating agreements, and supporting programme delivery in the Abeche Area Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational partnerships and coordinate agreements.
  • Act as CPM Team Lead in absence of the incumbent.
  • Convene Technical Review Committees and Cooperating Partner Committees ensuring compliance with SOPs.
  • Arrange monthly coordination meetings with Cooperating Partners to monitor implementation progress and discuss challenges.
  • Onboard new Cooperating Partners by coordinating trainings on PSEA, Anti Fraud and Anti Corruption, invoicing, and technical project aspects.
  • Plan and coordinate Cooperating Partner performance evaluations including mid-year and end-of-year evaluations for multi-year FLAs.
  • Coordinate follow-up on improvement plans or action plans and document all follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate Cooperating Partner trainings in liaison with Country Office CPM colleagues.
  • Maintain capacity assessment calendar and coordinate capacity assessments for new partners and follow-up actions.
  • Support field offices with budget reviews at Technical Review Committees and contribute to cost efficiency through context-based analysis.
  • Provide training to colleagues and Cooperating Partners on CPM processes and ensure compliance with SOPs and corporate guidance.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A post-secondary certificate in sociology, programs, or project management is desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in programme area.
  • Experience in managing and/or developing agreements/contracts is required.
  • Experience in financial/budget monitoring and analysis is desired.
  • Experience working in NGOs or the United Nations is required.
  • Experience in team management, training and support is desirable.
  • Experience in coordinating across multiple offices and/or teams is required.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is desirable.
  • Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
  • Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
  • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
  • Fluency in French is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge (B1) of English is desirable.
