This consultancy role involves strengthening Uganda’s community health system by designing and implementing interoperability between the Community Health Worker Registry (CHWR) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS). The consultant will develop APIs, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards to improve health workforce data accuracy and accessibility, supporting better planning and monitoring of community health workers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement interoperability between CHWR and eCHIS systems
- Develop APIs, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards for health workforce data
- Support system testing, deployment, and capacity building for national stakeholders
- Enable seamless data exchange and synchronization of CHW records
- Integrate data into the national data warehouse
- Provide geo-referenced insights to enhance service coverage and equity
Requirements
- Masters and degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Software Engineering
- Minimum 5–7 years in digital health systems
- Proven experience in health system interoperability and API development
- Experience with DHIS2 and data warehouse integration
- Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, OpenHIE, and open-source platforms (e.g., CHT, OpenSRP)
- Experience working with government or development partners preferred
