The Project Manager - SRH Alliance leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of a multi-partner sexual and reproductive health programme in Ethiopia. The role ensures high-quality implementation of interventions that improve access to inclusive, quality SRH services, address harmful social norms, and strengthen health systems, particularly in hard-to-reach and conflict-affected areas.
Responsibilities
- Lead overall programme delivery and coordination in Ethiopia.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycle (planning, implementation, reporting).
- Provide technical SRH guidance and ensure quality implementation.
- Coordinate Alliance partners and governance structures.
- Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and representation.
- Oversee financial management, compliance, and reporting.
- Manage risks and lead the project team.
- Strengthen MERL systems and promote evidence-based programming.
- Ensure data collection, reporting, and documentation.
- Support learning, research, and knowledge sharing.
- Mainstream gender equality, inclusion, climate, and youth participation.
- Align programme with policies and strategic frameworks.
- Provide capacity building and support to partners.
- Ensure partnership compliance and coordination.
- Facilitate joint reviews and collaboration platforms.
- Identify capacity gaps and strengthen partnerships.
- Build linkages with research and technical institutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Public Health, Project Management, Sociology.
- A minimum of seven years of progressive professional experience in the design, management, and delivery of SRH programs/projects.
- Prior progressive experience in SRH alliance or SRH consortium management role in International NGOs is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, and multi-stakeholder SRH programs/projects, including coordination of international and national alliance or consortium partners.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating or delivering TOT and SRH related strategies, and training tools for different stakeholders.
- Proven experience representing related programs/projects and organizations at national and international coordination platforms, including engagement with donors, government institutions, and strategic partners.
- Strong technical expertise in SRH, with in-depth knowledge of relevant SRH policy frameworks and strategies, including adolescent pregnancy, child marriage, female genital mutilation, and related SRH priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to create enabling environment, influence and build strategic relationships through strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in managing programs/projects compliance with diverse donor requirements (e.g. Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is a plus or desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional and multicultural working environment.
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department and SRH Alliance member partners are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies.
- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
- Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
