The SECONDMENT Coordinator Innovation Strategy will lead outreach and partnership initiatives supporting Strategic Innovation within INTERPOL's Innovation Centre. The role involves supervising staff, managing strategic objectives, fostering innovation culture, and building partnerships with law enforcement, private sector, and academia to enhance policing capabilities globally.
Responsibilities
- Implementing and managing daily and ad-hoc tasks related to Strategic Innovation strategy, outreach efforts, and capability development in accordance with the Organization's priorities, management decisions, and relevant policies and regulations.
- Serving as Acting Representative for the Assistant Director during their absence to ensure seamless day-to-day operation.
- Supervising and guiding team members in executing assigned tasks including development of the Directorate's strategy, establishing and maintaining external partnerships, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, and promoting innovative initiatives in skills, knowledge, and technology.
- Preparing reports and documents to assess the effectiveness and impact of projects and activities.
- Providing proactive guidance, analytical studies, and research to support informed decision-making by senior management.
- Serving as the primary point of contact internally and externally for matters related to the Directorate's strategy, particularly innovation partnerships, outreach, partnerships, and official agreements.
- Representing the Organization in areas related to innovation partnerships as required.
- Performing any other duty as required by the hierarchy, contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the Organization.
Requirements
- Three to four years of university education or equivalent level of education, with a specialization in a relevant field such as engineering, science, public policy, or law.
- A master's degree, or doctorate would be an asset.
- Experience as a police officer or equivalent level of training in the field of criminal justice is required if the post holder does not possess the required level of education.
- A minimum of 5 years of policing experience, with a strong background in law enforcement operations and management, and a proven track record of leadership and strategic decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including their applications and implications for law enforcement.
- Specialized experience in one or more of the following areas: cybercrime, financial crime, counterterrorism, or organized crime, with a strong understanding of the complexities and challenges of investigating and combating these crimes in a law enforcement environment.
- Working knowledge of legal issues related to transnational crime investigations, including relevant laws, regulations, and international agreements.
- Extensive knowledge of current computing and communications technologies, including their applications and potential uses in law enforcement.
- Experience hosting international conferences on policing matters, including the proactive coordination of participation from member countries.
- Experience in developing strategic partnerships, outreach, and programme development, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, and other law enforcement agencies.
- Fluent language skills in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of another official language (Arabic, French and/or Spanish) would be an additional asset.
- Proven ability to plan and manage complex tasks with minimal supervision, with strong capacity for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Strong communication skills, both in written and oral form.
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
- Ability to work persistently and under pressure, with discipline and high degree of self-motivation.
- Ability to mentor and develop other staff members in the team.
