The Service Engineer will join the NCIA in Naples, Italy, to manage, deliver and maintain Communication and Information Systems (CIS) products and services supporting NATO operations. The role involves project management, system engineering, configuration management, and support of secure communication systems within the C4ISR environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.
  • Contribute to selecting the requirements approach.
  • Facilitate input from stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and enable effective prioritisation of requirements.
  • Plan and drive systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans.
  • Select, adopt and adapt appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testing.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop and agree system integration plans and report on progress.
  • Support management of assigned IT and operational assets across the C4ISR environment.
  • Support accurate asset tracking, lifecycle management, and optimization of resources to support mission-critical systems.
  • Oversee configuration management processes for infrastructure components and systems.
  • Ensure that configurations are identified, documented, and maintained to enable system integrity, traceability, and controlled changes across the IT environment.
  • Support the end-to-end change control process, including the assessment, approval, and implementation of modifications to systems or infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all changes are evaluated for risk, tested, and deployed with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Support coordination and oversight of the release and deployment of assigned new systems, software, and updates.
  • Enable successful delivery into production environments while maintaining stability and performance through proper planning, testing, and communication.
  • Support development and maintenance of secure and reliable communication systems supporting operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience.
  • Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
  • Recent experience in Project management of C4ISR acquisition and/or development projects for a large organization.
  • Experience in planning, design, system engineering and implementation of military or other C4ISR systems.
  • Experience in Project Management tools, managing cost and labour.
  • Experience in identifying and assessing new and emerging technologies and their adoption into larger systems.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
