Internship - Data Analyst

The internship position supports the Office of Internal Audit by assisting in data extraction, cleaning, validation, exploratory data analysis, and development of dashboards. The role provides hands-on experience in data analytics within WFP and supports risk management and strategic decision-making through analytics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in extracting, cleaning, validating, and preparing datasets from corporate systems and other relevant sources.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and risk indicators.
• Support the application of analytics to risk assessment, planning, monitoring, and reporting activities.
• Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of dashboards and visualizations using Tableau or excel.
• Support pilot initiatives involving automation, artificial intelligence, or analytics innovation, as applicable.
• Assist in documenting analytical methodologies, assumptions, and results.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university.
• Field of study in data science, computer science, information technology, web development, statistics, engineering, or another closely related field is required.
• Knowledge of Python is required.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools, including Tableau, is required.
• Understanding of basic data analytics and statistical concepts is required.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence or machine learning concepts is desirable.
• Computer literacy in standard software applications is required.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C).
