MHPSS Facilitator

The MHPSS Facilitator supports the delivery of quality mental health and psychosocial support services for refugee children and caregivers by facilitating group well-being sessions, awareness activities, and parenting support. The role involves planning and implementing psychosocial support programmes, ensuring adherence to child safeguarding standards, and supporting reporting and data management.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and co-facilitate group sessions of psychological well-being.
• Facilitate and co-facilitate awareness sessions to help break the stigma of mental health activities in refugee contexts.
• Co-facilitate a POM program session for parents and caregivers.
• Develop monthly reports reflecting progress in project implementation, highlight success cases and document challenges.
• Participate in planning and implementing psychosocial support group activities and setting up monthly plans.
• Ensure activities are implemented in full respect to child safeguarding policies of Save the Children.
• Contribute to updating project database and monitoring system.
• Draft concise, useful and analytical reports for the line manager.
• Provide translation support or build relationships with beneficiaries during individual sessions when needed.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in designing and facilitating group sessions for children.
• Proven knowledge and skills in activity planning and implementation.
• Proven expertise in child protection and child resilience.
• Good communication and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of one or more refugee languages in addition to Arabic.
• Awareness about the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees.
• Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually.
• Shares Save the Children’s vision and values.
• Previous working experience with NGOs and in refugees-related contexts is desirable.
