The position supports the implementation and monitoring of projects aimed at eradicating violence against women in Bolivia. The role involves monitoring project implementation, providing technical assistance, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality standards in line with UN Women mandates.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the implementation of actions developed by Civil Society Organizations, including developing and applying a monitoring and evaluation plan, collecting and analyzing data on grant impacts, and coordinating with civil society organizations and local actors.
- Identify potential risks to achieving impacts and implement timely mitigation strategies applying the 'do no harm' principle.
- Promote collaboration among civil society organizations and strategic actors, fostering contributions to indicators and creating spaces for exchange of methodologies and coordination.
- Provide technical assistance to key actors to consolidate Results-Based Management, social norm change, and implementation of gender violence legislation.
- Support the implementation of activities developed by the eradication of violence area, ensuring quality and efficiency standards and generating synergies with other projects.
- Coordinate, monitor, and substantively review outputs of specialized technicians.
- Apply gender, generational, and diversity perspectives systematically and document them in all activities.
- Support coordination, programming, organization, and implementation of activity calendars.
- Provide technical assistance in preparing descriptive and analytical documents, data systematization, project profiles, talking points, presentations, and other materials.
- Support logistical and technical needs for dialogue, information, and training spaces, both virtual and in-person.
- Maintain updated electronic archives of technical documents, area planning follow-up reports, and program/project reports.
- Support project monitoring in the EVAW area, ensuring follow-up on results achievement, data collection and analysis based on indicators, and preparation of progress reports.
- Coordinate with counterparts for data validation, support evaluation processes, and contribute to systematization of results and lessons learned in line with Results-Based Management and corporate platforms.
- Attend coordination meetings with counterparts, UN Women team, and UN system agencies in coordination with supervisor.
- Support review and preparation of inter-agency documents.
- Follow up on inter-agency meeting minutes and agreements.
- Perform other functions within the functional profile as needed for efficient office and organizational functioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in social sciences, law, and/or political sciences.
- Master's degree and/or two postgraduate courses related to the position (desirable).
- At least five (5) years of general professional experience.
- Four (4) years of work experience related to project management with public, private, or international entities targeting populations in poverty and vulnerability.
- At least two (2) years of experience in the area of eradication of violence against women and related services (desirable).
- Experience in the United Nations system is considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
- Knowledge and use of UN Women integrated systems (Quantum, DAMS, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of project implementation with a gender approach (desirable in rural settings).
- Knowledge of development strategies from international cooperation.
- Understanding of gender and rights-based approaches.
- Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
- Fluency in English is desirable.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.
