The Driver is responsible for safe transportation of NRC personnel and cargo, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to traffic rules. The role requires ensuring vehicle safety, performing minor repairs, and maintaining proper documentation such as logbooks and accident reports.

Responsibilities

  • Represent NRC Myanmar in a responsible manner and act according to the organization’s Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure safe transportation of NRC personnel and cargo to requested destinations.
  • Strictly follow traffic rules and speed limits, drive safely and considerately.
  • In case of accident, follow required steps including filling accident report form.
  • Responsible for cleaning and daily maintenance of the vehicle ensuring safe running condition.
  • Check oil level, water level, battery, brakes, tyres, and ensure vehicle is equipped with first aid kit, spare tyre, and tools.
  • Report promptly in writing if tools are missing including filling Daily and Weekly reports.
  • Perform minor repairs; report major repairs to Logistics Assistant or Officer before further action.
  • Fill logbook for all trips and ensure other drivers do the same.
  • Ensure fuel tanks are filled as per rules and record fuel amounts in logbook.
  • Ensure all licenses, insurance cards, and vehicle permits are valid and available in vehicle.
  • Ensure own driving license and relevant papers are up to date.
  • Follow instructions in NRC Drivers’ Manual Checklist.
  • Fulfil other tasks assigned by Immediate Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience from working as a driver in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Resident of Rakhine State and have knowledge of local context.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enable to support team work.
  • Sufficient Local Proficiency both written and verbal.
