This internship offers practical experience in professional photography and videography within an international environment, supporting UNFPA communication objectives through high-quality visual content production. The intern will cover missions, events, and produce multimedia content for social media, donors, and institutional communications under the supervision of the Regional Communication Adviser.
Responsibilities
- Photograph missions, field visits, workshops, meetings and official events.
- Document human interest stories ethically and impactfully.
- Sort, retouch and deliver professional quality photo selections.
- Retouch photos using Lightroom or equivalent software.
- Contribute to organizing the regional photo library (metadata, captions, consents).
- Film interviews, field activities, messages from officials and key moments.
- Produce short videos for social media (horizontal and vertical formats).
- Participate in producing human interest and program highlight videos.
- Set up equipment: lighting, sound, framing.
- Ensure all content complies with UNFPA visual and ethical guidelines.
- Support content production for major campaigns.
- Participate in archiving and classifying multimedia content.
- Contribute creative ideas for digital productions.
- Assist in preparing content for social media and website.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or final year student in photography, videography, multimedia, photojournalism or equivalent field.
- Mastery of photography and videography techniques.
- Knowledge of professional cameras, microphones, lighting equipment.
- Skills in photo retouching and video editing.
- Proficiency in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva, etc.
- Familiarity with relevant AI technologies for the field.
- Good understanding of visual storytelling and social media formats.
- Must have an operational computer with necessary software.
- Creativity and aesthetic sense.
- Ability to work under deadlines.
- Rigor, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good team spirit, autonomy and willingness to learn.
- Fluency in French or English; bilingualism desirable.
- Integrity and commitment to UNFPA and UN values.
- Openness to cultural diversity and change.
- Key competencies include results orientation, responsibility, professional expertise, analytical and strategic thinking, teamwork, self-management and relationship management.
- Interns receive no salary but may receive a stipend if no other financial support is available.
- Interns must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, proof required before start.
