The Infrastructure Intern will support the team in reviewing projects and monitoring construction activities to ensure projects meet high quality standards. The intern will assist in applying best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project cycle, under technical team guidance, while observing Health, Safety, Social and Environmental standards and Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in the development, preparation, coordination, and review of urban planning, architectural, and complementary projects and plans.
- Support the preparation and review of terms of reference, descriptive reports, specifications, bidding documents, and technical manuals for engineering and architecture.
- Assist in all stages of the bidding process for contracting projects and/or construction works.
- Support identification and recommendation of technical architecture and engineering solutions through reports and technical studies.
- Support identification and recommendation of solutions ensuring quality of projects, operations, installations, and environmental conditions through reports and technical studies.
- Assist in organizing and managing administrative routines for projects and construction such as schedules, meetings, project coordination, and internal process follow-up.
- Accompany engineering inspections of system operations, structures, and installations during project and construction development.
- Support recommendations for changes in partner policies and procedures through review of engineering program activities.
- Support research in architecture, urbanism, and engineering and provide technical assistance to partnerships.
Requirements
- Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism or Civil Engineering from the 8th semester onwards; or have graduated within the last 3 years in Architecture and Urbanism or Civil Engineering.
- Professional experience in applying basic principles and techniques of Architecture or Civil Engineering is valued.
- Experience supporting project proposals, manuals, and reports is valued.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications is valued.
- Knowledge or experience using professional equipment and tools such as CAD (AutoCAD), BIM (Revit), GIS, MS Project, and Google Suite is a plus.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required.
- Basic proficiency in Spanish is required.
- Basic proficiency in English is required.
