The Intern - Project Support MDG will support the MDG unit of the IOM Morocco mission by assisting in project development, reporting, strategic partnerships, and event organization. The internship provides practical experience in migration, development, and governance within an international multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and general support to the MDG unit through reporting, project monitoring, project development, fund mobilization, reporting and communication.
  • Support development of internal and external initiatives to build linkages between Protection and MDG Departments.
  • Support quality control review of project, reporting and communication documents.
  • Support collection and preparation of documents for submission between units.
  • Verify and support data entry on PRIMA-for-All platform including monitoring and evaluation, project development, reporting.
  • Support preparation of briefing notes, letters and emails to donors, thematic, mission, government exchange.
  • Support calendar updating and event planning for International Migrants Day, donor visits, training, conferences.
  • Compile minutes of meetings, visits, conferences and related administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) in Public Health, International Relations, Political or Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development or any other relevant area from an accredited institution; or, be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or graduated within the last 12 months with a Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant fields.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating databases is an asset.
  • Experience in preparing financial reports is an asset.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring project budgets is an asset.
  • Understanding and knowledge in the creation of knowledge management products.
  • Knowledge of business administration.
  • Computer literacy, especially database tools and strong Excel knowledge.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to timely understand the Organization’s structure and portfolios.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
  • Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
