The IT Project Manager ensures a results-oriented response to the Department of Safeguards' priorities by managing one or multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within agreed time, budget, and benefits. The role involves translating business requirements into IT capabilities, managing project teams, and advising senior management on technology project impacts.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans in line with relevant policies and standards, including solution options consistent with the SGIS technical and information architecture, and with best practices as identified by the PRINCE2 methodology, including controls to manage risk, quality, budget and schedule.
- Manage the implementation of new information systems, or enhancements to existing IT systems.
- Lead agile software implementation teams, provide continuous guidance to team members and manage the agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) end-to-end.
- Serve as product manager for safeguards IT products, effectively collaborating with clients, third-party providers, end-users, and SGIS development, infrastructure and service desk staff and management.
- Collaborate with other departmental staff in the implementation of policies and standards for information, project and portfolio management.
- Support management of the SG IT project and product portfolio through data analysis and visualization.
Requirements
- Master's Degree - Advanced university degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree - University degree in a stipulated field with two years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- Minimum of five years of experience as an IT project manager in an information systems context, in a client-facing role.
- Experience in leading software delivery teams using a lean/agile approach such as SCRUM.
- Experience in utilizing techniques and tools to explore and validate requirements with clients such as low-fi/hi-fi prototyping, user personas, ideation session.
- Accredited Project Management Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 an asset.
- Accredited Agile and Business Analysis Certification such as CBAP and SCRUM Master an asset.
- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
