The HR & Administration Officer will be responsible for the daily implementation of Human Resources activities at the Area/Field office in Yola, Adamawa State. The role includes supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll preparation, staff file management, office maintenance, and partnership engagement related to HR standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment processes including posting, CV collection, screening, longlisting, organizing written tests and interviews
  • Assist in onboarding process of new employees and track induction programs
  • Draft contracts for new staff members
  • Compile personnel files ensuring all necessary documents are complete
  • Ensure new employees and supervisors sign job descriptions and file copies
  • Support payroll preparation by inputting staff for step progression
  • Track staff movements such as annual leave and special leave
  • Maintain and update staff files continuously
  • Ensure staff sign their pay slips monthly
  • Ensure HR files are compliant and up to date
  • Review personnel files to identify gaps and initiate corrective actions
  • Update and track timesheets for national staff
  • Manage hard and electronic filing of staff lifecycle documents
  • Provide HR and work-related information to staff and supervisors
  • Supervise cleaners and casual workers
  • Prepare hotel bookings and guest house arrangements for staff on official visits
  • Manage office/guest house maintenance and administrative store restocking
  • Inventory and asset management of office and guest house items
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor
  • Participate in due diligence visits with partnership unit to assess HR standards and alignment with NRC and donor requirements
  • Participate in partners’ onboarding and communicate key HR requirements
  • Collaborate with Partnerships Unit to assess partner HR capacity and identify training needs

Requirements

  • University Degree
  • Professional experience in HR management, administration, or finance
  • Previous experience in complex and unstable contexts
  • At least two years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience as a trainer
  • Strong command of Excel/Word software
  • Good knowledge of applicable labor laws
