The consultant will work under the guidance of the Economic Affairs Officer of the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section, ESCAP, to enhance policymakers' understanding of climate-smart trade policies supporting nature-based solutions (NBS). The role involves developing tools, databases, and conducting analysis on climate-smart trade and investment, with a focus on selected Asia-Pacific countries.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the Economic Affairs Officer of the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section, Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, ESCAP.
  • Develop tools, databases and conduct analysis on how countries can make their trade and investment climate-smarter and support nature-based solutions.
  • Contribute to analysis and technical material for implementing Essential Medical Products modules in TINA and Legal TINA.
  • Deliver outputs in electronic format such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of work delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, with a specific focus on international trade.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on NTMs and MAST classification is desirable.
  • Experience in RTA analysis, text analysis, R coding and e-learning material development.
  • Experience in conducting desk research in international trade, economics, or related field.
  • Experience working in an international organization is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
