The Operational Information Management & Reporting Officer is responsible for ensuring the availability of accurate, timely, and actionable information that supports operational decision-making, donor reporting, and strategic positioning. The role involves data management, analysis, reporting, and coordination with multiple units to present WFP's operational performance and impact coherently and credibly.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidate data from key corporate systems (COMET, SCOPE, LESS) and partner inputs.
  • Ensure data consistency across programme, supply chain, CBT, and partnerships outputs.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and gaps (e.g., pipeline constraints, targeting issues, market dynamics).
  • Maintain a “common operating picture” of WFP Rwanda operations to inform management decisions.
  • Develop and maintain country-level dashboards (beneficiaries reached, funding gaps, pipeline status).
  • Produce regular operational updates, briefs, and visual products for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data into clear, user-friendly visuals and key messages.
  • Lead preparation and coordination of Annual Country Report (ACR), Monthly country briefs and executive briefs, Donor progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and donor reporting requirements and timelines.
  • Draft high-quality reports, briefs, and talking points that clearly demonstrate results and impact.
  • Translate operational data into compelling, non-technical narratives tailored to donors and partners.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across reports, proposals, and external communication products.
  • Highlight WFP’s comparative advantages, including delivery systems, government partnership, and innovation.
  • Coordinate inputs across Programme, RAM, Supply Chain, Partnerships, and Field Offices.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency between data, analysis, and narrative across all outputs.
  • Manage internal review and clearance processes for reporting products.
  • Strengthen quality control and ensure accuracy, coherence, and completeness of all deliverables.
  • Maintain repository of reports, dashboards, and key information products.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and case studies.
  • Support the development of standardized templates, tools, and reporting guidance.

Requirements

  • Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications, or other relevant field. (Or First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience.)
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience in roles related to data analytics, partnerships, programme management, business development, strategy, or other functions requiring synthesis of information and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders (e.g. government institutions, development partners, private sector, academia, or civil society), demonstrating the ability to gather, consolidate, and align inputs from diverse sources.
  • Experience contributing to reporting, analytical, or strategic outputs, such as reports, briefs, dashboards, proposals, or knowledge products, in support of decision-making or external engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and technical content into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communication, including for senior management and external partners.
  • Experience applying data, analysis, or evidence to inform planning, communication, or operational decisions.
  • Exposure to cross-functional or multi-sectoral environments, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Fluency (level C) in English. Knowledge of French or another UN/WFP working language is an asset.
