The intern will support the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre's private sector engagement and development work, assisting in partnership building, research, programme implementation, communication, advocacy, and administrative tasks. This internship offers exposure to international development and multilateral cooperation in the context of sustainable development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Centre’s private sector engagement and development work including building and strengthening partnerships among the ROK, UNDP, and developing countries with private sector actors.
  • Conduct research on private sector engagement and development issues such as SDG-aligned business strategies, policies supporting MSMEs and entrepreneurs, digital transformation, green transition, and SDG financing trends.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of USPC’s SDG Partnership country-support programme and Impact Startup Accelerator in Korea.
  • Support organization of UNDP meetings and events related to private sector engagement and development.
  • Support communication, advocacy and outreach activities including production of web and social media content, digital/multimedia materials, advocacy materials, drafting, copyediting and translating content.
  • Take records of events, meetings, activities, and visits; support onsite promotion in outreach activities; support incoming missions; maintain files and databases; perform liaison and administrative tasks; support other ad hoc activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent) or have recently graduated with a university degree and start the internship within one-year of graduation or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
  • Field of study: international development, international relations, sociology, political science, public administration, economics, commerce, business administration, marketing, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with social media and creative design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Korean is required.
  • Fluency in other UN languages is considered an asset.
  • Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan.
  • Internship opportunities are exclusively available to individuals who possess the legal right to reside and work in the Republic of Korea (ROK).
  • Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed.
  • Interns need to obtain financing for subsistence and make own arrangements for internship, travel, VISA, accommodation, etc.
