The Independent Living Facilitator supports the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society through employability support, language courses, vocational training, and independent living assistance including rental subsidies. The role involves coordination with stakeholders, beneficiary engagement, apartment monitoring, and reporting within the Crete region.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly visit the designated Reception Facilities to present the project to the beneficiaries through comprehensive information sessions and enrol them in it, if eligible.
  • Coordinate with RIS and other relevant stakeholders operating on-site concerning the schedule of the visits and the messaging to the beneficiaries.
  • Ensure that the messaging to beneficiaries is clearly communicated.
  • Assist the beneficiaries in their search for apartments and administrative pre-requirements, depending on needs.
  • Execute apartment monitoring visits, via videocall or in person, in the designated area of responsibility.
  • Provide timely reports and any other necessary information to the Project Assistant (Independent Living) and relevant departments.
  • Collect data and Means of Verification of the Independent Living component of the project.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/ certificate with minimum three years of relevant work experience, or; University degree from an accredited academic institution with minimum one year of work experience.
  • Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
  • At least one year of previous work experience.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
  • Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications.
  • Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
  • Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Greek (oral and written) is required.
