The Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating educational classes and activities with Community Learning Centers and partner associations to promote access to quality and safe educational opportunities for children in Greater Cairo. The role includes leading a team of community facilitators and school leaders, conducting monitoring visits, and implementing educational interventions based on beneficiaries' needs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate educational classes and activities with Community Learning Centers and partner associations
- Lead a team of community facilitators and school leaders under supervision of the education officer
- Implement educational interventions based on beneficiaries’ educational needs
- Conduct regular observation and monitoring visits to educational classes and activities in targeted Community Learning Centers in Giza
- Ensure accountability by managing resources efficiently and achieving Save the Children values
- Set ambitious and challenging goals for self and team and encourage personal development
- Build and maintain effective relationships with team, colleagues, members, and external partners
- Develop and encourage new and innovative solutions
- Ensure honesty, openness, transparency, and highest levels of integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or relevant development/management Studies
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in project implementation in the development/humanitarian field with a reputable NGO in Egypt
- Highly familiar with the refugees and migrant’s context in Egypt
- Previous experience in the education field is required
- Proven knowledge and skills in education activities’ planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
- Proven successful experience in team management
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Good training and facilitation skills
- Strong networking, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written)
- Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
- Very good at using the internet, MS Office, Email, and spreadsheets
- Commitment to Save the Children values, and Child Safeguarding policy
- Experience in working with UASC, youth, and adolescents (preferable)
- Experience in implementing similar educational interventions to the targeted group (preferable)
- Experience with using technology in education (preferable)
