The consultant will conduct a geospatial analysis using GIS data to assess the vulnerability of healthcare infrastructure to climate stressors in Turkiye, identifying high-risk hotspot areas and providing policy recommendations. The consultancy is home-based and lasts two months, focusing on the impacts of climate change on reproductive health and health service delivery systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geospatial analysis correlating climate stressors with health service provision units in Turkiye
- Analyze spatial infrastructure data, service utilization data, and climate exposure data to identify vulnerabilities
- Propose additional relevant variables to enhance the analysis model
- Formulate evidence-based policy recommendations based on quantitative analysis findings
- Submit inception report detailing research objectives, methodology, data sources, and schedule by 27 July 2026
- Submit preliminary report including analysis and policy recommendations by 7 September 2026
- Finalize report incorporating UNFPA feedback by 22 September 2026
- Work under direct supervision of UNFPA Programme Analyst, PD
- Submit daily logs and deliverables for certification of payment
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Demography, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Social Policy, Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant academic and research experience on public health, demography, social policy, economics, environmental policy or related fields
- A strong publication record and experience of quantitative analysis relating to health policy, demography, economics, environmental policy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, spreadsheets and databases
- Previous experience in delivering similar assignments is an asset
- Experience of work with the UN is an asset
- Excellent writing and research skills is an asset
- Excellent consultation and engagement skills is an asset
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish
