The Programme Management Specialist supports the management, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the ACT to end Violence against Women and Girls Programme. The role includes oversight of programme quality, financial management, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and resource mobilization to ensure successful delivery of the programme.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Programme Management and implementation of global and regional programme including assessment of work plans, budget alignment, quality control, and technical support to partners.
- Build stakeholder engagement and capacity strengthening through relationships with partners, technical assistance, and coordination of meetings and advocacy events.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting of programme progress, standards, and results including preparation of reports and audits.
- Oversee and guide people and budget management ensuring adherence to delivery rates and resource utilization.
- Develop sustainability plans including partnerships, resource mobilization strategies, donor engagement, and communication materials.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Political Science, Development, Public Administration, Gender is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- At least 5 years progressively responsible experience in programme/project management, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building.
- Experience working with, coordinating and liaising with governments, donors and civil society organizations internationally and in the field.
- Experience in setting priorities, budgets, work plans, participating in programme development and programme/proposal writing.
- Experience in monitoring and reporting for projects and programmes.
- Experience working with the UN is an asset.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience using UN Women programme management systems including PGAMs, PRISM and Quantum.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
- International experience is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
