Support Director

The Support Director leads and strengthens MSF Denmark’s internal operations and support functions, ensuring expert teams work effectively together in service of the organization's mission. The role includes strategic leadership of finance, IT, compliance, internal controls, and organizational processes, contributing to governance and institutional decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of financial planning and budget processes, ensuring sound financial stewardship, effective forecasting, and alignment with organizational priorities
• Lead and develop the Support Department, ensuring continued collaboration across specialist functions, high performance, and continuous professional development
• Oversee financial management, reporting, compliance, internal controls, and organizational risk management, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely decision-making support
• Ensure effective procurement processes and contract management, promoting efficiency, compliance, and value for money in support of MSF Denmark’s operations
• Safeguard IT governance, information security, and oversight of digitalization initiatives, enabling reliable systems and data-informed operations
• Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance, working closely with relevant specialists and stakeholders
• Contribute to strategic planning, performance monitoring, and organizational governance as part of the Management Team
• Support cross-cutting organizational priorities and represent MSF Denmark in relevant internal and external forums

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant field such as management, business administration, law, finance, accounting, or IT management
• Proven experience leading managers and specialist teams
• Experience in financial management and compliance
• Experience in risk management and internal controls
• Experience in IT governance and digitalization
• Experience in GDPR and data protection
• Experience in process improvement and organizational development
• Experience working cross‑functionally at both strategic and operational levels
• Experience from MSF or another mission‑driven or not‑for‑profit organisation is an asset
