The Programme Officer supports the Healthy Environments for Healthy Children (HEHC) Programme by managing financial, administrative, and coordination processes. The role facilitates programme implementation, procurement, contract management, and knowledge sharing to ensure effective global collaboration and delivery of results for children.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic coordination, technical resources procurement and budget and programme monitoring functions for the HEHC programme, including the Children’s Environmental Health Collaborative.
  • Provide operational support by tracking multi-country proposals, deliverables and performance indicators, and executing budget transfers and financial tracking within the VISION system in alignment with donor agreements.
  • Coordinate communication across country networks, facilitate the contracting of technical resources, and support partnership and contract management processes, including financial workflows and system records.
  • Support administrative functions including meeting logistics, travel and TA deployment, budget monitoring and reporting, and the management of digital platforms and knowledge systems to ensure effective global collaboration and information sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Social Science, International Business Relations, Public Administration, International relations, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development and any other related fields.
  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience in administration, administrative services, coordination, programme implementation, financial tracking, coordination activities and any other related fields.
  • Budget tracking and financial monitoring, use of enterprise systems (e.g., VISION or similar ERP systems), procurement and contract administration processes, data and document management, coordination and communication across teams, use of digital collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint)
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
  • Experience in executive support or programme support functions, exposure to financial management, contracting and/or HR processes, working knowledge of UNICEF programme policies and administrative procedures, experience in UN system or international organizations is desirable.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
