Lead psychosocial support services for children and adolescents in mobility situations in Ciudad Juarez, implementing IRC methodologies as part of Mobile Units services. Support group activities for positive parenting and psychosocial support, manage participant data, and provide psychological first aid as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Implement group activities on positive parenting with parents, caregivers, and public servants responsible for child protection in Ciudad Juarez shelters, neighborhoods, and schools.
  • Support group psychosocial support activities for children in mobility in Ciudad Juarez shelters, neighborhoods, and schools using play-based methodologies.
  • Assist in preparation and logistics for distribution of play backpacks for children according to IRC psychosocial support methodologies.
  • Maintain participant control/database in physical and digital records aligned with data protection best practices.
  • Use referral and care routes for child protection.
  • Constantly assess needs of children and families to adapt interventions and refer to required services.
  • Provide Psychological First Aid in crisis response situations.
  • Participate in technical capacity strengthening activities.
  • Support humanitarian assistance provision as needed in emergencies.
  • Serve as an example of IRC Way: Professional Conduct Standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related social sciences.
  • Knowledge of office software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge in gender mainstreaming, protection of vulnerable or mobile populations, especially children and adolescents, migration policies and regulations and their impact.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience implementing psychosocial and/or group/community protection projects with children and adolescents in mobility or vulnerable situations.
  • Desirable experience in humanitarian context work; with vulnerable, refugee or mobile populations.
  • Valued knowledge of the local context.
