The Junior Youth Officer internship supports ITU's meaningful youth engagement globally, assisting in the implementation of the ITU Youth Strategy and youth communications efforts. The intern works under the supervision of the Associate Youth Programme Officer within the Gender and Youth Office.
Responsibilities
- Participate in ITU’s meaningful youth engagement work with and for young people globally.
- Assist in the implementation of the ITU Youth Strategy, particularly through the ITU Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Board, the ITU Young Professionals Programme, the ITU Reverse Mentoring Initiative and ITU Youth Leadership activities.
- Support the drafting and updating of reports, briefing notes, and other written materials on youth matters for internal and external audiences.
- Support ITU’s youth communications and community building efforts, to amplify ITU’s engagement with global youth through ITU social media and the ITU Future Innovators Podcast.
Requirements
- University degree in any relevant field.
- No work experience required.
- English at advanced level.
- Be under 30 years of age (Exceptions may be considered for candidates pursuing a Ph.D.).
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate programme, or be a recent graduate (within six months prior to the start of the internship).
- Be a citizen of a Member State of ITU.
