The Technical Project Assistant (CITinova II Project) supports the execution of technical and administrative routines related to the project promoting integrated metropolitan planning and innovative urban technology investments in Brazil. The role involves collaboration with the Project Management Unit, coordination of planning and governance activities, organization of events and official travels, participation in procurement and recruitment, and support in drafting and reviewing project documents.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Management Unit and the National Directorate in all the project’s implementing, coordinating, reporting, monitoring, and evaluating activities.
  • Aid in the coordination of all planning and governance activities of the project.
  • Contribute to the organization, accountability and reporting of meetings, seminars, workshops, and other events.
  • Organize official travels.
  • Participate in procurement processes and recruitment related project activities.
  • Contribute to the drafting, translation, and review of documents and presentations.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices as part of a team.
  • Organize all project information, including terms of reference, deliverables and products produced within the project activities, project documentation through images, videos, and meeting reports.
  • Aid the drafting and revision of technical products, documents and reports.
  • Research and develop technical content in the areas relevant to the project as needed.
  • Aid the project’s stakeholder engagement activities as needed.
  • Attend capacity building activities when requested by the National Directorate and UNEP.
  • Contribute with the communication’s operational activities, when requested.
  • Other actions required for effective project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Biology, International Relations, Political Science, Law or related field is required.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in activities related to project management and/or project assistance, preferably in integrated urban planning, urban public policies, climate, biodiversity, or territorial management is required.
  • Working experience or training related to at least one of the following fields: urban sustainability and/or climate change and/or biodiversity conservation is desirable.
  • Experience in supporting the development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working with national governments and/or international organizations is desirable.
  • Experience working in gender issues and knowledge of relevant gender issues in Brazilian cities is desirable.
  • Fluent in Portuguese is required.
  • Fluent in English is required.
