The Associate Management and Programme Analyst supports evidence-based decision making, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting within the Business Transformation and Accountability Division of the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance. The role involves programme/project analysis, communication strategy support, quality assurance, policy development, and coordination of budget and funding activities.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation, reviews relevant documents and reports, identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions, liaises with relevant parties, identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
- Provides support to the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans to support BTAD priorities and initiatives, including analytical tools for monitoring performance and compliance such as dashboards and reports.
- Supports the development of communication performance metrics and applies insights from analytics to refine communication strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Assists in the conduct of quality assurance reviews of administrative services and drafts related reports.
- Assists in providing strategic analysis reflecting programme performance.
- Assists with consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning and facilitating workshops and other interactive engagements, and assisting in developing action plans the client will use to manage change.
- Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
- Proposes innovative ways of presenting information gathered from diverse sources.
- Assists in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.
- Assists with survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
- Assists in the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
- Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
- Assists in outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
- Participates in missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, and other parties and drafting mission summaries, etc., as applicable.
- Coordinates assigned activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, management, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Certification in project management, such as Prince 2 or equivalent, is required.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, communications, administration or related area is required.
- No experience is needed for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP) or the G to P Examination (G to P).
- Experience in drafting communication materials, preparing reports or presentations, and supporting outreach or engagement activities is required.
- Experience with Power BI for advanced data analysis or reporting is required.
- English is required at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
