The consultant will support UNICEF Brazil in developing an intersectoral Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) strategy to prevent corporal punishment and other forms of physical violence against children. The role involves designing and facilitating a partner-driven process to translate evidence into a practical SBC strategy and work plan, including workshops and coordination with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a detailed methodology and work plan for the overall strategy-building process, including agendas, invitations, session plans, facilitation approaches, and materials and tools for workshops.
- Develop and deliver all content for two in-person workshops in Brasília, including presenting evidence, explaining SBC frameworks, and facilitating discussions to develop strategic pillars and priorities.
- Support the establishment and coordination of partner working groups and provide ongoing support, templates/guidance for preparatory notes.
- Design and facilitate a two-day online consolidation workshop to finalize strategic direction, priorities, and implementation approaches.
- Draft the SBC strategy and work plan, incorporate feedback from validation processes, and deliver final approved documents and annexes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, sociology, anthropology, psychology, public relations, international relations, education or another relevant technical field in social or behavioural sciences.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral change strategies and/or research at the national and/or international levels is required.
- Candidates must attach to their candidacy a list or portfolio containing examples of research and strategies/plans they have commissioned, coordinated, led, or conducted in the field of behaviour change.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with new developments in the SBC field.
- Familiarity with new and emerging approaches such as behavioural insights, human-centred design, and social listening, among others is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with and engage partners, including government counterparts at different levels, as well as civil society partners and local communities.
- Fluency in Portuguese is required.
- Experience with child protection research and programming related to Ending Violence Against Children in Latin America and the Caribbean region is a strong asset.
