The SAF Regional Program Specialist supports the Service to the Armed Forces program in Kunsan, Korea, establishing and growing American Red Cross programs and services for U.S. military members and their families. The role involves relationship management, volunteer supervision, service delivery, and reporting to ensure program success and organizational accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, strengthen, and grow American Red Cross programs and services to meet the needs of U.S. military members and their families.
  • Work with volunteers and other Red Cross departments to support strong visibility for SAF programs throughout the Kunsan area.
  • Support building relationships with military leadership, key organizations and community leaders.
  • Cultivate relationships and partnerships with external constituents in the local community including military commands, government organizations, corporate partners, civic organizations and other community charitable and nonprofit agencies.
  • Support a volunteer program and supervise volunteer staff to meet the workforce model and enable delivery of SAF programs and services.
  • Ensure delivery of SAF core services to all clients within their jurisdiction including Whole Health, Training Services, Youth Preparedness, and disaster preparedness and response programs and services.
  • Use case management system, present briefings, collect data, provide needed materials, and conduct outreach within the community.
  • Monitor and report on the outcomes and results of programs and services to ensure organizational accountability.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure metrics are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage volunteer staff.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work well in an individual or team environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Experience with American Red Cross programs and services is desired.
  • Familiarity with military culture, regulations, and protocol strongly desired.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance and a no-fee U.S. passport.
  • Mobility is a condition of employment and an essential function of this position.
  • Must accept work assignments to deployment locations in or near conflict areas, where the American Red Cross is providing services to members of the military.
  • Must meet strict medical and physical requirements, including immunizations required by the U.S. military.
  • May be required to wear military uniforms, and live and work in harsh and stressful environment in conflict areas.
