Staff Assistant (Illustrator)

The incumbent is responsible for preparing all matters related to producing and distributing designs and products for the Reprographic Services Section at SHAPE. Duties include creating illustrations using software, operating printing and reproduction equipment, and managing supplies while adhering to security standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing rough drafts, refining designs with illustration software, using colors and effects to visualize concepts, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to meet their needs.
• Operating of printing, reproduction and illustration equipment including hardware and software.
• Completing work requests for reproduction and illustrations, mat cutting (Valiani cutting machine) as requested and assigned.
• Attending training on assigned machinery with the aim to perform duties at adequate level.
• Managing printing, reproduction, and graphical supplies level and inform technician (Reprographics), if supplies are critical.
• Following required security standards for classified and sensitive material during assigned stages of production.
• Attending meetings, training, or courses relevant to the above duties.
• Creating visually captivating illustrations by combining hand-drawing and painting with digital media.

Requirements

• Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills, with 2 years experience.
• Knowledge and skills in using illustration software to create and refine designs.
• Knowledge and skills of Basic Networking, color management and paper management.
• Experience, knowledge and skills of image editing and digital sketching software, like Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
• Knowledge and skills of drawing skills with an attention to detail.
• Knowledge and skills of different printing techniques and processes (digital, sign, language, large and small format).
• Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines.
• English - SLP 3322 (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
• Profound knowledge of illustration and the close work with customers to understand their requirements.
• Basic experience of printing and reprographic including software.
• At least 3 years’ professional experience in illustration, mat cutting, printing, and in duplication work in general.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of the refining of designs with illustration software, and using various colors, graphics, and effects to bring concepts to life.
• Higher Secondary education
• Courses: NATO Orientation Course provided by NATO - School Oberammergau (NSO), Adobe, InDesign ACA - Zero to Hero, Adobe, Photoshop ACA - Zero to Hero, Adobe, Illustrator ACA - Zero to Hero, Adobe, PremierePro ACA - Zero to Hero
