The Officer will coordinate the implementation of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) and Narrowing the Development Gap (NDG) initiatives through project management, technical support for meetings, monitoring sub-regional initiatives, and managing information dissemination. The role supports ASEAN's economic community goals and requires coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation of the NDG initiatives and IAI, through the IAI Work Plans including project/programme management and coordination with project proponents and ASEAN Secretariat divisions.
  • Follow-through project proposals submitted for ASEAN’s funding approval process and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects/programmes.
  • Coordinate the implementation of programmes where the Division is the implementing agency and compile information on the progress and results of the IAI Work Plan implementation.
  • Provide technical support to meetings serviced by the Division including preparing drafts, compiling and circulating documents, assisting in rapporteur duties, coordinating follow-up actions, and arranging meeting logistics.
  • Monitor the implementation of sub-regional initiatives by compiling information, assisting in servicing meetings, and preparing talking points and briefing notes.
  • Disseminate and manage information related to IAI and NDG including preparing information materials, organising promotional events, maintaining databases, and updating the ASEAN website section.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Management, Development Studies, Political and Social Sciences; and/or Bachelor’s degree in the afore-mentioned fields or discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in developing or managing projects/programmes, preparing reports and organising meetings, conferences and other events, shall also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and work flows, with proven ability for accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices in multi-cultural environment.
  • Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in work planning.
  • Ability to multi-task, work long and irregular hours, perform tasks outside the usual job scope, and willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good command of English, written and spoken.
  • Competency in computer skills with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, and the use of Generative AI, where relevant to the position.
