The internship at NATO Space Operations Centre offers a six-month opportunity to assist NATO Space Operators in enhancing efficiency through experimentation, software development, and user interface improvements. The intern will engage in programming space tools in Python and developing user-friendly interfaces to support space situational awareness.
Responsibilities
- Assist NATO Space Operators in the NATO Space Operations Centre (NSpOC) in enhancing efficiency through experimentation.
- Streamline the in-house space software suite and improve its user interface.
- Program space tools in Python.
- Develop and improve user interfaces for users that are not space savvy.
- Increase the efficiency of existing procedures by introducing new software tools and increasing automation.
- Explore and identify ideas for new tools.
Requirements
- Must be a citizen of a NATO member nation.
- Advanced English language skills.
- Open to current students who have successfully completed at least two years of their bachelor's or master's degree, or recent graduates (degree obtained within the last 18 months) in the fields of Space Systems, Space Systems Operations, Engineering, Software Science or related studies.
- Must have experience in programming in Python and a drive for Space.
- Experience with the AGI System Tool Kit (STK) is desirable.
- Interns must have their own social insurance coverage, including healthcare, on joining AIRCOM.
- Participation in an internship is subject to receipt of NATO security clearance from the intern's national authorities.
