See your match score & applyThe intern will support the Giga team with event coordination, communications and marketing activities, contributing to planning and delivery of events, participant engagement, promotional materials, registration management, on-site logistics, post-event evaluation and reporting, and creation of communications content for digital channels.
Responsibilities
- Support event planning and coordination, including meetings, workshops, receptions and other Giga events.
- Help prepare event timelines, checklists, run-of-show documents and briefing materials for speakers and participants.
- Assist in managing event calendars, mailing lists, registration platforms and participant communications.
- Respond to attendee inquiries and provide clear, timely event information.
- Contribute to event communications and marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, invitations, newsletters, website copy and other promotional content before and after events.
- Support digital communications, including social media content, short promotional copy, visual content briefs and audience engagement activities.
- Assist with on-site event operations, including guest reception, check-in, badge distribution, room preparation and coordination with service providers.
- Collect and analyse participant feedback, track basic engagement information where relevant, and support the preparation of event reports.
- Support other communications, marketing and coordination activities of the Giga Secretariat as requested.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a university programme in communications, marketing, event management, international relations, public relations, digital media, business administration, hospitality or another relevant field.
- Relevant coursework or practical experience in events, communications or marketing will be considered an asset.
- No work experience required.
- Experience or interest in event management, communications, marketing, design, content creation or the ICT sector will be valued.
- Familiarity with event management platforms, digital communication tools, design tools and AI-assisted productivity tools would be an asset.
- English at advanced level.
- Knowledge of French or another UN language would be an asset.
- Be under 30 years of age (Exceptions may be considered for candidates pursuing a Ph.D.).
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate programme, or be a recent graduate (within six months prior to the start of the internship).
- Be a citizen of a Member State of ITU.
