The intern will support the Youth and Trade initiative by assisting in community management, communications, project management, and coordination of youth empowerment programs including the Youth Ecopreneur Programme. The role involves content development, event coordination, research, and data management to empower young entrepreneurs and support sustainable development.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the operation of the Ye! Community and Youth & Trade social media profiles by developing communications materials and curating content.
  • Maintain Ye! Community resources including updating tools, resource sections, and e-learning pages.
  • Assist in updating Youth & Trade specific pages on the ITC corporate website.
  • Facilitate connections between Ye! Community members and external opportunities, events, and resources.
  • Coordinate execution of Ye! Community webinars, mentoring, and virtual training content.
  • Research best community practices relevant to the Ye! Community growth.
  • Contribute to periodic reviews and results-based management of ITC youth economic empowerment projects.
  • Conduct research on new project intervention areas and contribute to project design.
  • Support coordination with other youth-focused projects.
  • Assist in implementation and coordination of the Youth Ecopreneur Programme including Bootcamp, Accelerator, Awards, and Alumni activities.
  • Plan and organize online and in-person events for Youth Ecopreneur participants.
  • Support outreach to project participants via email campaigns and messaging groups.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and communication materials.
  • Support data management and monitoring and evaluation related to the project.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
  • Field of study in Communications, Marketing, International Development, International Relations/Affairs, Sustainability, Business Management or related fields.
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in drafting communication material with Canvas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues in an international office environment.
  • Previous experience or internships relating to trade-related technical assistance and/or international development is desirable.
  • Previous experience in project management and communications is desirable.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
