The consultant will support the activation and initial development of a business platform to strengthen business relations between the EU and the Pacific. Responsibilities include network development, coordination of technical sessions, and providing recommendations for future platform development.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive and reactive outreach to Business Champions to maintain participation, understand interests and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Support increasing the number of eligible Business Champions by working with local partners and setting eligibility criteria.
  • Regular communication to the Business Champions Group to maintain engagement.
  • Organize and coordinate online technical sessions for the Business Champions group on priority topics.
  • Manage preparation and delivery of sessions including coordination with speakers and participants, agenda preparation, invitations, and follow-up.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to build the value of the Business Champions Group and shape future platform development.
  • Capture and report on examples of network value created by the Group.
  • Maintain accurate contact lists and attendance records for Business Champions with regular updates to ITC HQ.
  • Support coordination of information requests from Champions and stakeholders.
  • Formulate lessons learned and provide practical recommendations for further development of the Business Champions Group and EU-Pacific business platform.

Requirements

  • First level university degree in economics, law, social or human sciences or equivalent. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in private sector development, institutional strengthening, or online community management.
  • Proven experience in building governance and organizational excellence in small structures.
  • Familiarity with chamber of commerce models and private sector advocacy structures in developed and developing countries.
  • Experience working with governments and private sector stakeholders in Pacific and/or EU at senior levels would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English, knowledge of French and Pacific languages an asset.
