The Consultant will deliver measurable outreach, knowledge-sharing, and communication outputs related to the coffee sector under the EU OACPS Business Friendly Project in Liberia. Responsibilities include developing and implementing communication plans, producing multimedia content, documenting programme activities, and supporting media engagement to enhance project visibility and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a communications and visibility plan aligned with the objectives, activities, and key milestones of the ACP Business-Friendly Coffee Programme.
  • Establish and maintain a content calendar and develop engaging content for relevant digital and social media platforms, including activity announcements, photographs, short videos, coffee facts, programme achievements, beneficiary voices, and key messages.
  • Provide communications and visibility coverage for key programme activities conducted during the contract period.
  • Document trainings, farmer engagements, field activities, stakeholder meetings, youth and women-focused activities, and other programme interventions through high-quality photographs, videos, activity briefs, and social media content.
  • Identify and document beneficiaries and stakeholders whose experiences demonstrate the impact of the programme, including farmers, cooperatives, youth, women, trainers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop compelling human-interest stories, testimonials, and impact stories highlighting changes resulting from programme interventions and disseminate them through appropriate communication channels.
  • Develop and disseminate a project newsletter highlighting key programme activities, achievements, partnerships, beneficiary experiences, and developments within Liberia’s coffee sector.
  • Implement targeted social media awareness campaigns promoting coffee as a business opportunity, with particular attention to youth and women, as well as coffee production, processing, consumption, and trade.
  • Develop a short documentary/impact video showcasing the achievements, experiences, partnerships, and contribution of the ACP Business-Friendly Coffee Programme to Liberia’s coffee sector.
  • Support media engagement around key programme achievements and milestones through press releases, media briefs, radio and online interviews, and human-interest stories.
  • Consolidate all communications and visibility outputs produced throughout the contract period and develop a final communications package showcasing the programme’s major achievements, human-interest stories, partnerships, lessons learned, and impact.
  • Highlight the programme’s contribution to strengthening Liberia’s coffee sector and creating opportunities for farmers, women, and youth.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate university degree in communication, social sciences, business administration, economics, or other related fields. Practical audio-visual training would be an asset.
  • Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
  • A minimum of five (2) years of relevant professional experience in radio communication for agri-business related projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience in implementing EU-funded projects.
  • Experience of working with international/donor organizations or in national development agencies.
  • Good knowledge of the institutional context in Liberia is an added advantage.
  • Media production and live broadcasting skills.
  • Content development and storytelling skills.
  • Interviewing and communication skills.
  • Digital and multimedia skills, including video editing and social media management.
  • Knowledge of the coffee sector and experience working with farmers and local community.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of the local language is considered an advantage.
