The roles include Protection Officer and Case Managers focusing on Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence, ensuring effective implementation of protection actions, case management, coordination, and community engagement to safeguard vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate prevention, identification, and response activities to protection risks.
- Ensure proper and confidential case management and strengthen referral mechanisms.
- Provide technical support to partners and community actors.
- Contribute to monitoring indicators and emerging needs.
- Facilitate integration of protection, safeguarding, age, gender, and diversity approaches in emergency interventions.
- Monitor protection trends, risks, and needs to guide programmatic decisions.
- Ensure effective functioning of referral and case coordination mechanisms with humanitarian actors and institutions.
- Strengthen capacities of staff, partners, and community structures in protection.
- Maintain effective working relationships with authorities, partners, and community mechanisms.
- Identify, evaluate, manage, and follow up on high vulnerability cases ensuring safe and confidential access to specialized services.
- Support psychosocial assistance, psychological first aid, individual case management, safe referrals, and follow-up of care plans.
- Contribute to community sensitization, risk monitoring, early warning, and strengthening community protection mechanisms.
- Document and report cases, monitor programmatic indicators, and coordinate with health, legal, protection, and social assistance services.
Requirements
- Professional degree in Psychology (registered), Social Work (registered), Social Sciences or related field.
- Experience in Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence prevention programs, and humanitarian protection contexts.
- Knowledge of case management, referral pathways, protection and safeguarding principles.
- Ability to coordinate inter-institutionally, lead teams, and strengthen capacities.
- Skills in context analysis, report writing, and monitoring indicators.
- Experience in community work and coordination with local and institutional actors.
- At least 2 years of experience applying child protection programs and response protocols.
- Experience in case management for children and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients.
- Positive and professional attitude with teamwork skills.
- Preferred experience in emergency, insecure, or remote management environments.
- Ability to prioritize work under pressure and maintain composure in difficult settings.
