The Officer Santé Nutrition supports the implementation and monitoring of nutrition activities for children under 5 years in the health areas of Tenenkou under the supervision of the Project Manager. The role involves overseeing malnutrition screening, treatment, training, data collection, and coordination with community actors to ensure quality nutrition services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify nutrition focal points in beneficiary villages.
  • Train community health workers and focal points on malnutrition screening.
  • Support beneficiary training on malnutrition screening.
  • Monitor malnutrition screenings conducted by beneficiaries at household and village levels.
  • Follow up on children referred to care structures with community actors.
  • Collect information on training, screening, and referrals.
  • Ensure malnutrition treatment in URENAS sites using the simplified protocol.
  • Ensure quality of care according to the revised PCIMA protocol.
  • Organize monthly formative supervisions at URENAS treatment sites.
  • Ensure compliance with the PCIMA protocol.
  • Ensure proper data collection on Commcare.
  • Ensure availability of nutrition inputs at community health sites.
  • Support nutrition staff in work organization.
  • Plan and organize trainings for staff according to project needs.
  • Hold regular team meetings.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management.
  • Regularly submit activity schedules as agreed with management.
  • Send weekly activity reports.
  • Prepare monthly nutrition activity reports for the intervention area.
  • Inform supervisor of any significant changes or relevant information.
  • Manage materials provided effectively.
  • Act as liaison between the project and local administrative and traditional authorities.

Requirements

  • Doctorate level in medicine.
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising nutrition activities.
  • Experience in implementing the simplified protocol for malnutrition treatment.
  • Experience with simplified approaches is an asset.
  • Knowledge of local languages.
  • Familiarity with the local area.
  • Good writing skills in French.
  • Proficiency in computer tools (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Integrity and rigor with flexibility.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Commitment to humanitarian accountability principles towards beneficiaries and communities.
  • Understanding and adherence to IRC principles and values.
