The Nurse Supervisor will provide technical support and competency based supportive supervisions to IRC and partner(s) health nurse staffs including mobile and static teams. The role supports capacity development, ensures clinic care standards, and assists in monitoring and evaluation under the Project Manager's supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinic (both PHC and RH) technical and capacity building to both IRC and partner(s) health nurse staffs in accordance with standard protocols and guidelines
  • Provide nurse orientation package to mobile clinic nurse of both IRC and partner(s) who is new to the program
  • Provide training on tele-medication to health staffs and health workers of IRC and partner organization if necessary
  • Provide technical trainings (PHC, SRHR, IPC training, etc) to mobile clinic staffs in collaboration with clinic supervisor
  • Supervise and manage nurses, clinic assistants and health workers for clinic setting readiness when providing long-term family planning services
  • Ensure c-IYCF counselling in place and effectively by providing coaching and on job training to mobile clinic teams in closely collaboration with community health supervisor and clinic supervisor
  • Ensure IRC and partner(s) health nurse staffs to follow guidelines of drug and commodities management and also responsible for supervising drug sub-stores and stock management
  • Conduct regular competency based supportive supervisions and provide technical supports to IRC and partner(s) mobile/ static clinic nurse staffs
  • Organize and provide regular on the job training to IRC and partner(s) health nurse staffs based on the result of competency based supportive supervision checklists
  • Assist Project Manager and Capacity Building Team to identify essential technical capacity building plan for IRC and partner(s) health nurse staffs
  • Coordinate closely with technical advisors and Capacity Building Team for capacity development of IRC and partner (s) clinic staffs
  • Assist Clinic Supervisor to ensure adherence of the standard infection prevention and control of the mobile and static clinics
  • Help in identifying and establishing proper health care waste management
  • Participate in program monitoring and evaluation
  • Participate in partner(s) mobile and static clinics monthly work plan
  • Monthly program narrative report to Project Manager
  • Participate in relevant surveys of the project as needed
  • Assist Project Manager on preparation of donor, IRC in-country and HQ reports as needed
  • Assist Project Manager in coordination and relationship with health stakeholders, Health Cluster members, MOH and EHOs at township
  • Assist Project Manager in establishing diseases surveillance system and outbreak response as needed
  • Work closely and coordinate with program support teams to implement project activities in time
  • Assist Project Manager to provide procurement documents in advance as needed
  • In collaboration with other members of the health project team, participate in the design and implementation of formative assessments and baseline studies
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with UN agencies, INGOs, or LNGOs in a relevant field
  • Experience and skills in managing, supervision and capacity building to health staffs
  • Good leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Adaptable, flexible and mature in judgment
  • Dedicated team member with excellent communication skills
  • Have strong commitment to work, organization, and beneficiaries
  • Good assessment, analytical, planning and reporting skills
  • Have ability and motivation to travel and work long continuous days in remote IDP camps/ remote villages
  • Well understanding of confidentiality, medical ethics and humanitarian principles
  • Good practice on MS package
  • Good Myanmar and English language skills (both written and verbal) (Local ethnic language skill is also favorable)
