See your match score & applyThe Manager Education supervises the technical and operational management of the Education component of the project. Responsible for coordination with state partners and rigorous application of pedagogical approaches, the role leads the technical team to achieve schooling and retention targets.
Responsibilities
- Supervise implementation of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in targeted schools and ensure quality assessments in math, reading and writing for students
- Coordinate with Provincial Inspection (IPP) for teacher training, pedagogical supervision and close monitoring by inspectors
- Lead revitalization of proximity networks, pedagogical units and base cells to ensure continuous teacher training
- Supervise school catch-up program in collaboration with DIVAS for out-of-school children
- Collaborate closely with PROVED Sud-Kivu 1 and 2 for decentralized planning and distribution of school materials
- Ensure organizational participation in Education Cluster meetings and quality education working groups
- Develop detailed activity schedules (TaRL trainings, back-to-school campaigns, remediation sessions)
- Lead collection and analysis of performance data (pre-tests, mid-tests, post-tests) for TaRL approach students
- Conduct regular technical supervision missions to verify correct application of pedagogical methods taught by IPP in schools
- Identify technical success stories and write Human Interest Stories related to observed changes in children and teachers
- Analyze monthly education expenditure status, identify gaps and propose immediate corrective measures
- Develop monthly fund forecasts for motivation bonuses, workshops and transport costs
- Supervise receipt, storage and deployment of school supplies and furniture according to geographic targets
- Manage daily activities of Education Officers in the field, validate their weekly work plans and monitor task progress
- Conduct performance evaluations of Education Officers and identify specific technical training needs
- Ensure Officers have necessary resources (materials, logistics, security) to accomplish missions and report needs to Project Coordinator
Requirements
- Licence or Master (Bac+5) degree in Education Sciences, Education Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing educational projects, ideally in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Perfect mastery of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach and pedagogical remediation mechanisms
- Ability to collaborate with EPST structures (PROVED, IPP, Inspool) without substituting their sovereign roles
- Ability to supervise the collection and analysis of school performance data (level assessments)
- Capacity to manage complex budget lines and anticipate supply needs (furniture, kits)
- Talent for coaching and transferring skills to subordinates and state partners
- Commitment to IRC policies including client safeguarding and principles of diversity, equality and inclusion
