Gestor De Protección

The Gestor De Protección is responsible for case management and protection services for refugees, asylum seekers, and populations with protection needs in El Salvador. The role involves referral and coordination with institutions, community outreach, and ensuring the exercise of fundamental rights and well-being of the target population.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to protection guiding principles throughout case management and psychosocial interventions, ensuring confidentiality and respect for clients' wishes and decisions.
• Develop age-appropriate case management including client needs assessment, action plan development, and support in accessing services.
• Provide emergency first aid and care to vulnerable individuals and their families in crisis situations.
• Maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders and implementing partners.
• Complete monthly activity reports as directed by Protection Management/Coordination.
• Maintain detailed and confidential case files in line with recognized best practices.
• Contribute to monthly reports.
• Communicate directly and effectively with other social workers and service providers as part of individual case management.
• Regularly attend field-level case management meetings.
• Contribute to activity proposals related to case management.
• Enter, update and clean data.
• Maintain case files and compile weekly reports for supervisor.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.
• Adhere to IRC professional conduct standards and child protection policies.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Social Work or Psychology.
• Three years of experience in humanitarian sector organizations or non-governmental organizations.
• Experience in direct counseling, social work or related field.
• Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients and information provided by users.
• Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team environment.
• Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure and work in a difficult environment.
• Basic to intermediate level of English is ideally required.
