The Local Consultant will support communication and visibility activities for the ELEVATE project in Armenia, including content production, dissemination, tracking, reporting, coordination, and project support under the supervision of the Head of Office. The role involves producing communication materials in Armenian and English and supporting event organization and donor reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of communication and visibility activities in line with IOM branding guidelines and donor visibility requirements, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity.
  • Support the drafting, translation and dissemination of written, visual and multimedia communications content, including website updates, social media posts, success stories, newsletters, presentations and other communication products in Armenian and English, using approved templates and authorized design and AI-assisted tools, with all outputs subject to internal clearance.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the communications and events calendar, integrating project milestones, campaigns and relevant international days.
  • Assist in communication and visibility activities through coordination with project staff, partners, and service providers, under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Support the organization of meetings, public events, campaigns, and outreach activities, including the preparation of communication materials and event documentation.
  • Track published content and compile performance data, support the documentation of project activities through written content, photographs, and other communication materials; assist with monitoring media coverage and communication activities; and compile inputs for communication, visibility, and donor reporting purposes.
  • Assist in updating and organizing communication records, digital assets, visibility records, filing systems, and other relevant tracking tools, ensuring accurate archiving of visuals, photographs, editable files, consent records and donor visibility evidence.
  • Compile communication and visibility inputs for donor reporting and institutional documentation.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining project-related mailing lists, contact databases and stakeholders and partners lists.
  • Support communication and coordination with photographers, translators, printing houses, and other service providers, under the guidance of the supervisor, to support the timely preparation and delivery of communication materials.
  • Support the communications-related preparation and documentation of meetings, trainings, workshops, field visits, public events and outreach activities, including preparation of materials, event documentation, notes and follow-up of action points.
  • Provide operational support directly linked to communication, visibility, documentation and reporting tasks, including translation and proofreading of communications materials, assisting in the design and layout of reports, presentations, briefing notes, and other project documents.
  • Perform other related duties within this scope.

Requirements

  • University degree in Communications, journalism, digital media, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in communications, digital content, social media, public information work or related work.
  • Ability to produce clean, publishing-ready content across social media, newsletters and websites, presentations and other outreach materials.
  • Excellent writing skills in several different styles/tones including impeccable spelling and grammar in Armenian and English.
  • Hands-on experience with content design and publishing tools, including Canva or equivalent, social media platforms and content management, as well as working familiarity with AI-assisted tools for drafting, editing, and visual production.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under guidance.
  • Knowledge of donor reporting guidelines a plus.
  • Working experience in development or humanitarian environment is desirable.
  • Advanced computer literacy and communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relations with colleagues, partners, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Armenian and English language proficiency (oral and written) required, working knowledge of Russian is desirable.
