See your match score & applyThe consultant will finalize the TIPSOM case compendium to support prosecutorial efforts in addressing human trafficking and migrant smuggling in Malaysia. The compendium will serve as a reference tool for judges and legal practitioners, consolidating key judgments and analyses to improve case handling and support national action plans.
Responsibilities
- Review the existing draft of TIPSOM case compendium and update it with comprehensive legal review and analysis of case laws in Malaysia and relevant jurisdictions.
- Present and submit the first revised case compendium including analysis and commentary.
- Incorporate feedback from IOM and other stakeholders and submit the final draft compendium.
Requirements
- Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in law preferably.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in anti-trafficking and smuggling of migrant law.
- Prior work experience in relation to migrant protection thematic areas in Malaysia is essential.
- Demonstrated professional record in reviewing legal jurisprudence.
- Equipped with good legal research, analytical, and drafting skills; ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated work experience with IOM and/or the UN Agencies is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to draw lessons from relevant national legal jurisprudence.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to produce outputs as per agreed timelines.
- Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English is required.
- No travel is expected for this consultancy.
